As principal-in-charge of design and production, Frank is responsible for the oversight and coordination of all drawing documents related to the execution and construction of all HQW designed buildings. Critical to our firm’s success is Frank’s ability to balance the pragmatic concerns of building program with the more elusive characteristics of appropriate design. Central to Frank’s design process is the integration of client needs, environmental impact and contextual relationships. Along with his role as designer, Frank is a mentor to many of the firm’s younger architects. His commitment and dedication to the development of young talent has been very influential in the local architectural community. Frank has been an active community leader and is a strong advocate for the preservation of historical railroads. His documentation and analysis of historic railroad structures and equipment is helping to preserve the rich heritage of the northeastern railroad systems.
Christopher M. Wolverton, AIA, LEED AP

Chris has been a member of the HQW Architects design team since 2006. Beginning his career as an Intern, he has quickly climbed the ranks to Partner where his skills are constantly challenged. Education and hands on experience are integral to Chris’ continuously evolving design processes. Involvement in all phases of design, from conceptual through construction administration, has broadened his overall design spectrum. Additionally, Chris plays a vital role to HQW’s interns enrolled in the NCARB Internship Development Program. Ultimately, this passion for teaching has earned Chris an adjunct professor position as Sussex County Community College. In addition to attaining LEED Accreditation in June 2009, he has also attained licensure in 2013 in NJ & NY. He is a member of Newton Rotary and the Sussex County Chamber of Commerce's Young Professional Steering Committee.

Mark Bak

Mark is responsible for the management of a growing team of talented designers and oversight of projects from conceptualization thru completion. Along with these responsibilities he is involved in business development, marketing, and mentoring of young staff members.
Mark’s diverse architectural background spans over 30 years and includes a rich history in Sussex County and with HQW. His first professional job was with the firm after graduating from Lawrence Institute of Technology in 1986. In 1987 he went on to design commercial/industrial projects and develop all construction documents at a design-build firm. With a strong technical foundation in place, Mark completed his education at NJIT where he graduated cum laude with a Bachelor of Architecture in 1994 and returned to HQW for another 4 years during which time he acquired his Architectural License and again ventured to pursue other avenues of the profession.
For 18 years as a Licensed Architect Mark designed many diverse projects in our area.
A Sussex County resident for over 40 years, Mark resides with his wife Gretchen in Sparta. In his spare time he enjoys trail running, mountain biking, rock climbing -- any physically challenging activity that takes advantage of the outdoors.

Peter is a licensed architect and licensed building inspector. Peter’s expertise and guidance in issues ranging from ADA compliance to conceptual design cost estimating are immeasurable to the success and accomplishment of our firm. Peter is involved in every one of our projects, determining the appropriate means of design and construction within the legal landscape of codes and ordinances. By addressing issues of life safety and code conformance early on in the design process, we are able to budget more accurately and avoid costly redesigns that can cause delays and cost additional money. Along with these responsibilities, Peter also handles the majority of the contract administration within the office and is frequently on site to do construction inspection and review. This unique combination of skills adds dimension and depth to our design team and is instrumental in helping HQW Architects provide high-quality, comprehensive architectural services. In addition to his architectural endeavors, Peter is a sailor, a fisherman and a guitar player with a passion for song writing. Peter has been active in the Boy Scouts of America and is currently a member of Boonton Main Street, a Main Street New Jersey local community organization.
Anthony Genovese

Anthony Genovese has been designing religious buildings and artwork for over 40 years, with styles ranging from classical to contemporary to modern. Every project is crafted individually with the final outcome determined by the architect's vision coupled with the needs and desires of the client. On October 5, 1965, Tony designed the Papal altar setting for the Mass for Peace celebrated by Pope Paul VI in Yankee Stadium, Bronx, NY. On October 5, 1995, he was selected once again to design the altar setting for the Mass celebrated by Pope John Paul II in Giants Stadium, East Rutherford, New Jersey.
Paul Murphy

Paul joined HQW Architects design team in early 2014. He is a graduate of Marywood University where he received his Bachelor of Architecture degree. Paul brings a fresh perspective of the practice of architecture and construction to the firm. His range of experience spans from educational, to light commercial and industrial projects right down to residential design. Paul’s dedication and education in the field of architecture has lead him to become a well-rounded Project Manager at HQW Architects. As a Project Manager he is involved in all aspects of design from early stages of project conception, to construction documents, as well as the construction administration phase. Paul’s strong motivation, attention to detail, and passion for architecture has made him a valuable asset at HQW Architects LLC.
Tyler Ebert

Starting his career as an Intern in 2016, Tyler has recently become a full-time Designer at HQW Architects. This Spring, he earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Architecture while attending Marywood University in Scranton, PA; adding to the Marywood Alumni in the office. Bringing a strong graphical background to the office, gaining experience and adding new tools to his skill set everyday has become a vital part of his development and growth with the firm. Tyler’s role has expanded with each new project, and his drive to keep learning has carried through since his first summer at HQW. Growing up locally in Vernon, Tyler is a triplet and his hobbies include playing guitar, spending time with friends and family, and following sports.
