McCabe & Associates, Inc. provides Burlington City’s Historic Preservation Commission ongoing technical assistance as they fulfill their responsibilities set forth in the Historic Preservation ordinance. In the course of consultation, we identified the source of a water intrusion at the Temple B’Nai Israel. Assistance was given for the selection of materials to repair fire damage at 305 High Street. Advice was provided for the choices of exterior materials for a Bed & Breakfast conversion at 214 High Street. A review was conducted for a 19th-century carriage house, currently the Tourist Bureau office. We guided the Commission through a controversial slate and brick walkway replacement project on the grounds of St. Mary’s Church. Additionally, we worked with the new owners of 106 East Broad Street to follow the Secretary of the Interior Standards during the rehabilitation of their historic building.
