Total Area:  40,000 sq. ft.
Renovation:  15,500 sq. ft.
New Construction:  24,500 sq. ft.

The Andover Morris Elementary School’s http://www.pburg.k12.nj.us/AndoverMorris/index.htm Mission Statement reads: “To provide a safe, nurturing environment where students can engage in quality work in order to develop the skills necessary to become proficient in our state standards, and to become responsible members of the community.”

Using this statement as inspiration for the addition and renovations to the existing school, HQW Architects designed a facility that focused on the concepts of shared spaces and dual-use areas in order to maximize the districts resources.  Renovated areas include a new multi-use space designed to accommodate staged performances as well as sit down lunch service.  The addition contains a new gymnasium, art room, music room, computer lab, four classrooms, and two group instruction rooms. New work also includes redesigned parking areas for greater efficiency, more convenient pick up/drop off paths for increased student safety, and additional play areas.
